The National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Sports Awards return on Saturday, 7th November 2026, at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Moore Park (Sydney) – and the organisers are calling on organisations across Australia to help elevate the event through additional sponsorship.
The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sports Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions across thirteen award categories, including sportsperson, senior sportsperson, junior sportsperson, sportsperson with a disability, sports team, sports official, coach, media, volunteer, community sporting organisation, sporting competition, National lifetime achievement award and those who have made it possible for us all the National Trailblazer award.
Presented by the National Indigenous Sports Foundation and managed by the Indigenous Sports Network, the Awards are the nation’s premier celebration of First Nations sporting excellence. The event will honour outstanding contributions across multiple categories, from elite athletes and junior stars to community-led organisations and volunteers.
With past winners including Tamika Upton, Lydia Williams, Evonne Goolagong Cawley, Patty Mills, Ashleigh Gardner, Walgett Aboriginal Connection, and Rumbalara Football Netball Club, along with this years special guest herself, Cathy Freeman OAM, the event brings together some of the most influential names and future leaders in Australian sport.
